I was at first confused because the hotel is now called The Papagano Hotel or Top Class Hotel and NOT the Tulip Inn Hotel. Also the first entrance was also to offices, but once you went through the automatic doors to the hotel proper into the lounge reception area the atmosphere changed to one of elegance and 4 star hospitality.
The colour scheme, the art on the walls and the unobtrusive piped classical music was very impressive.
The room was spacious for a single, with good quality furniture and bedding. The curtains had additional whiteout lining to prevent daylight waking you and the bathroom appeared newly fitted out with state of the art fitments. There was cable TV, a telephone and a minibar.
The hotel itself is situated within walking distance of an underground station, Karl Platz where the Opera is situation and Stephenplatz where you will find yourself in a shopping precinct with many fine restaurants.
The staff of the hotel were courteous and the breakfast buffet was first class serving a selection of both hot and cold dishes. Tea and coffee were available free all day as was the Internet connection in the lounge.
I intend to return to Vienna early May with my daughter and we shall certainly try to book in at this hotel again.
Extremely good value for money.
